Strengthening inter-institutional cooperation in the fight against human trafficking

Vatra’s Mobile Unit in Diber held a focus group with specialists from Bulqiza Municipality and Bulqiza Police on the topic “Trafficking in human beings-how to prevent the phenomenon and protect victims of trafficking and potential victims of trafficking.”

The meeting was attended by senior representatives of the municipality, specialists from the Regional Directorate of Social Services, specialists from Bulqiza Police, the local coordinator against domestic violence at the municipality and social workers.

In order to improve inter-institutional cooperation in the municipality, discussions were held by all the above-mentioned specialists as main players in the fight against trafficking on preventing the phenomenon, its detection, referrals, care and protection of victims and identification of the perpetrators.

Klajdjola Hoxha, Bulqiza Municipality coordinator against domestic violence, says, “Trafficking of human beings is becoming more and more a matter of concern. For this reason, I personally believe that the capacity and commitment to deter this phenomenon should be increased, as well as the provision of information and the empowerment of young people before trafficking occurs”.
