During these two years under the re-integration program, Vatra has supported 145 victims of trafficking / potential victims of trafficking and 227 victims of gender-based violence. 135 children of victims of trafficking and violence have received services together with their mothers. 2728 secondary school students, high school students, university students and 2416 community members were informed under the awareness-raising projects. Strengthening the capacities of state structures and NGOs is another component of Vatra’s work since several years. Over these two years, 215 representatives of state
institutions and NGOs participated in the trainings and workshops organized by Vatra. One of the directions in which Vatra works, is the lobbying and advocacy to support the rights of women and children.
Despite the achievements, our organization observes that issues of housing, employment and vocational training in line with the labour market needs remain a challenge for the victims themselves as well as for the service providers who come in contact and follow up their problems.
Also, the protection and compensation of witness victims is another issue which requires special attention from justice institutions. This is done to urge and motivate the victims to cooperate with these bodies to bring before justice the traffickers and perpetrators and to protect their lives and dignity.
